Artist Biographies:

Santiago Caruso: Argentine symbolist artist, dedicated to the fantastique, metaphysical horror and poetry, he has illustrated books for Folio Society, Libros del Zorro Rojo, Dark Regions Press, La caja de Cerillos, Tordesilhas, Ex Occidente Press, Planeta and Penguin. He also does covers for magazines, books and musical albums around the world. His work stands out both for the vigor of its poetry as well as for its technique. Member of the Beinart Surreal Art Collective since 2010, the artwork of Caruso is well represented in galleries and museums of Buenos Aires, United States, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Spain.

Mr. ED: Argentine artist who lives in Barcelona. Works on newspapers, magazines and publicity in Europe and Latin America. Has created children's comics published in France and Spain. Was one of the creators of the children's comic Mamut and his book Beast Book 2 was also published by Fantagraphics.

Pedro Espinosa: From Spain, he is also a professor of illustration art besides being published widely in the Spanish language.

Roberta Gregory: Born in Los Angeles, where her father was Disney comics writer and artist Bob Gregory. Gregory began her career in 1974 by publishing comics in the all-female Wimmen's Comix anthologies and in other 1970s underground comix, and created the strip Feminist Funnies. In 1976, she published the first issue of a feminist comic book, Dynamite Damsels, which Gregory considered to be the first regulation-sized comic book to be published by one woman. In 1990 Gregory created "Bitchy Bitch" Midge McCracken, a woman angry at the world who frequently explodes with rage. She starred in the in the 40-issue series Naughty Bits, which was published by Fantagraphics from 1991 to 2004. Bitchy Bitch has a lesbian counterpart named Bitchy Butch. Starting in 1999, Bitchy Bitch was featured in Life's a Bitch, an animated series that was shown on the Oxygen Network in the U.S. and on The Comedy Network in Canada. Gregory's other work includes the fantasy graphic novel Winging It, the 3-issue series Artistic Licentiousness, and the comic strip Sheila and the Unicorn.Gregory has contributed to a number of comic anthologies, including Robert Kirby's Strange Looking Exile. As well, she is one of the contributors to Free to Fight, the interactive self-defense project for women. Gregory has received several Eisner Award nominations in the humor, best short story, best writer, and best writer/artist categories. In 1994 she was given an Inkpot Award by Comic-Con International.

Jude Harzer: Award-winning artist who lives and works in Ocean County, New Jersey. Her figurative paintings are inspired by childhood, memories and the power of thought to define lives and overcome circumstances. Using oil paint as her preferred medium, she creates psychologically provocative visual narratives featuring adolescents as observers and guardians of inter generational mythologies. Jude has participated in both solo and group exhibitions in venues thatinclude the Misciagna Family Center at Penn State, George Segal Gallery (NJ), Pen and Brush, Salamagundi Art Center, ACA Gallery and Prince Street Gallery , NYC. Her works and writings appear in multiple university publications. Before pursuing her studio practice, Jude became an award-winning educator and an art director and game graphic designer for a NJ-based amusement company. Jude's paintings belong to both national and international private collections.

Sandra Hernandez: Born in Barcelona,spent her childhood free time scratching all the paper she could find, until her mother, sick of drawings on the blank pages of all her novels, decided to enroll her in drawing school. At thirteen she enrolled in the municipal school of comics of El Prat de Llobregat, where she had her first contact with the adult comic.At sixteen, she entered the Escola Massana where studied Drawing, graduating after three years of joy and dissipation. After participating in several group exhibitions and developing a passion for the visual arts, she became the curator of the exhibition hall of the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de el Prat. In 2014 she became an illustrator for Catalan TV children's programs, illustrating five of the ten programs that made up the season.

Benjamin Marra: The controversial and influential creator of the comic books Night Business, Ganfta Rap Posse, The Incredibly Fantastic Adventures of Maureen Dowd (A Work of Satire and Fiction), Lincoln Washington: Free Man!, and Blades & Lazers, Marra has been compared to pulpy comics stylists like Paul Gulacy and Jim Steranko, as well as underground comix legends like R. Crumb and Spain Rodriguez, and even the Beat writers. His art is beyond the cutting edge; his work is in the cut itself.

Javier Olivares: He has published many books in Spain, as well as a comic strip adaptation of the classic The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde for the publishing house SM. He has collaborated with Fernando Marías in the books El Silencio se Mueve and Prisioneros de Zenda, both published by SM. His press illustrations have been featured in newspapers such as El Pa&iacue;s and Público and currently can also be seen in El Mundo and El País Semanal. He has taught illustration workshops in Spain and in Latin America, and has recently published the novel Las Meninas, published by Astiberri.

George Pratt: Born in Beaumont, George Pratt's first published comics work was for Marvel Comics' Epic Illustrated #20 (1983). Since then, his work has appeared in Heavy Metal, Eagle, and many other publications. He has also inked other artists' work and created painted covers for DC Comics.Since then, his work has appeared in Heavy Metal, Eagle, and many other publications. In 1990, DC published Pratt's first graphic novel, Enemy Ace: War Idyll, which was nominated for both the Eisner Award and the Harvey Award. It has been translated into nine languages and at one point was on the required reading list at West Point. The book won the France Info Award for Best Foreign Language Graphic Novel, and the British Speakeasy Award for Best Foreign Language Graphic Novel. Pratt's painted graphic novel Batman: Harvest Breed (DC) was nominated for two Eisner Awards. And the Wolverine: Netsuke limited series for Marvel won Pratt the 2003 Eisner Award for Best Painter/Multimedia Artist.
As of the late 2000s, Pratt is working on the book See You in Hell, Blind Boy: A Tales of the Blues, based on his research of the Mississippi Delta. With Steven Budlong and James McGillion, Pratt made a documentary film about his Mississippi travels, also called See You in Hell, Blind Boy. The film won Best Feature Documentary at the 1999 New York International Independent Film &Video Festival

Danielle Otraki is a freelance illustrator, fine artist and comic book artist currently located in Chicago, Illinois. Danielle is originally from Lebanon, and was raised in Florida where she focused her studies in illustration at Ringling College of Art and Design. She has produced artwork for several publications like, Inked Magazine, Radio Silence, and Strange Ways Magazine, as well as cover artwork for Jeremy Haun's The Beauty published by Image Comics. She had also contributed artwork to The Memory Collectors created by 44 Flood and published by IDW Publishing. She recently worked on a self-published graphic novel titled, Liberty: Deception Vol. 1, created by Travis Vengroff and published by John Dossinger Publishing. Along with cover artwork and sequential artwork for comics, Danielle takes a great interest in designing album covers and band merchandise, and recently worked with bands like, “Masked Intruder” and “Knocked Loose” signed to Pure Noise Records.
